New name
The Group was previously called The World War 2 Railway Study Group, and from the 2021 AGM has been renamed; The Military Railway Study Group. This will open the interest and discussion to include all eras of Railway use during conflict and their use as a logistic and domestic support. The emphasis will still be WW2 and as recently, WW1, but any subject will be welcome which relates to railway use from The American Civil War to present day. Any articles would be welcome for The Bulletin, or Discussion pages. Contact the Bulletin Editor in the first instance for guidance.
There are a series of Zoom meetings being presented through the year. An email address will be required and zoom capability on your computer or media device. They will be announced in the Bulletin or on this page:
23 rd November Thursday at 19.30 “A forgotten story from the Rhymney Valley” USATC S100 locomotives stored at Duffryn Isaf. Presented by John Bushby. All are welcome to join the zoom meeting email Chris Mead or Info@mrsg for invite link.
It is intended to offer further Zoom meeting throughout 2024 on a bi monthly basis. The next event is a “come ye all” project/ update discussion. Anyone with a project involving Military Rail topics can present a short resume and open the forum to help and discussion. More details to follow.
